So, I went to a guitar store with my guitar and asked what strings to buy. They recommended some and said that I could probably change them on my own without any tools. I looked up some videos online and used the following two posted below to try and restring. Each one gave good tips, but the way to put the strings on was completely different between the two. I'm not sure what's best, so I looked at a few more afterwards. I was doing okay until the 5th string (out of 6) when I tightened it too much and broke the string. Doh! So onto my next task - buy new strings yet again. I ordered two sets as well as a string winder to help with the installation. I looked up to see how far they are supposed to be tightened, but it seems that I'll learn with time. I found another video from the For Dummies series and a website on Wiki How that were helpful. Now to wait for my new strings to arrive.

My daughter and husband were playing with my guitar about a month ago and wound the strings too tight so that they broke. My husband tried to blame it on my 3 year old, but the truth came out that he did the deed. In any case, I will look online to find out where to buy strings and will also try to find a video on YouTube to determine how to actually re-string it. I will post here once I find the video. I also added to my TweetDeck a column for #learningguitar. So far, I just see quick posts of what chords people are learning and have mastered and fingers hurting (which I remember from
