I didn't have as much time to practice this week with a classroom observation and a classroom video tape as well as TPA 3, but this weekend I took some breaks from TPA-ing to play. My daughter has gotten used to me playing and likes to look on and ask lots of questions. She's even in my video today. After getting through the chords from last week, the game had me go back to picking individual strings, but this time forcing me to move around on multiple frets and multiple strings. It's much harder than I thought it would be! I took this video to show how much I struggle with the song on the second time played, but hopefully I can master it and post a much better one later. I really like that this game takes me through different steps of learning that I wouldn't have known to do - starting with single strings, then onto frets, then the easiest chords, then more difficult strings, etc. etc. I like guitar music that's played with more than just chords, but don't really know the names for the type of playing that I like. I need to do some research into it - I looked a bit tonight and found the following websites on fingerpicking, but I'm not sure if that's what I'm thinking of. Onto more research and playing next week!
